Bill Gates Testifies Before Congress in Jeffrey Epstein Investigation

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates appeared before a congressional panel on Wednesday as part of a broader investigation into the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case and the relationships Epstein maintained with influential public figures. Gates' appearance was conducted in a closed-door session before the House Oversight Committee.
The hearing does not involve criminal charges against Gates, and lawmakers have not accused him of participating in Epstein's crimes. Instead, investigators are questioning several high-profile individuals whose names appeared in documents, communications, photographs, or meeting records connected to Epstein.
Gates has previously acknowledged meeting Epstein multiple times between 2011 and 2014, years after Epstein's 2008 conviction. He has repeatedly described those meetings as a "huge mistake" and said they were focused on philanthropy and global health discussions. Gates has also stated that he never witnessed or participated in any illegal conduct involving Epstein.
The congressional inquiry is examining broader questions surrounding the federal government's handling of the Epstein investigation, alleged failures to stop Epstein's trafficking activities sooner, and the connections he maintained with powerful figures in business, politics, and finance.
According to reports, Gates voluntarily agreed to cooperate with investigators and expressed hope that his testimony would help efforts to provide accountability and justice for Epstein's victims. A transcript of the interview is expected to be released publicly at a later date.
The appearance is part of a wider congressional effort that has sought testimony from numerous prominent individuals linked to Epstein's social and professional network. Despite renewed scrutiny, no evidence has been publicly presented showing that Gates participated in Epstein's criminal activities, and Gates continues to deny any wrongdoing.
